Why has my bearded dragon survived for 6 years off of a diet of crickets everyother day and lettuce every 2 da

days every place I look say that he shouldn't of lived 6 years why is this he doesn't have any health problems or anything

  1. ok apart form the bad diet why do people think this guy is lucky beardies live for 6-15 years.

    crickets arent a bad choice of food but i would vary sometimes locusts or roaches. lettuce is bad kale celery and spinach and greens such as mustard greens, turnip greens, and dandelion greens are good but again vary what u give it


  2. Why? Well you might have been very lucky. Crickets and Lettuce are some of the worst combinations of food for some lizards, but crickets I don't think are too bad for bearded dragons. Your lizard probably isn't feeling absolutely wonderful, but he'll survive. How much longer? I can't tell, I would start changing his diet right now. Feed your guy other vegetables, like celery. For the best nutrition- silk worms. Those guys are expensive and very hard to find, but you can breed them and you will have a very healthy bearded dragon. They are very hard to find, so you can also use butterworms.
