    Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

  2. Norton all-in-one is a very large program. it runs different application sin the background for every piece of security. It runs a separate anti-virus program, then a firewall program, then a malware program, a Spam blocking program an update program, etc. So it's just very heavy and uses a lot of resources.

I recommend Eset Smart Security from www.eset.com received tons of awards and is not have on resources at all, also very small footprint ( doesn't leave a big mess of files on your pc)

Also a new one on the block who is getting great reviews is Vipre Antivirus + Antispyware 3.1 can get it from www.sunbeltsoftware.com

    Hope this helps
