Question:

Why has my connection gone from okay to absolutely horrific?

Two days ago, my connection was at max "12.0 mbps" and "Signal strength: Low", downloads at around 20-50kb.

And now its at max "36.0 mbps" and "Signal strength: Good".

Yet it takes me at least 5 mins to show pictures and I'm downloading at a rate of 1.0kb to .2kb. At this rate my antispyware will never be finished downloading. I don't think I'm infected with anything because I just had a scan go through with my other programs, so what could I have possibly done to kill my connection?

And on a side note, my xbox live games have never been laggier. Every 3 seconds I get 'could not connect to server' then it would continue the game, then freeze again, then continue then freeze... ect.

  1. If you have two devices struggling I suggest it points to the line. I suppose your ISP could have a problem, but it's far more likely to be interference or damage on your own line.  Or maybe you have a filter going bad.

  2. your ISP could be having ISSUES.
