  1. I had 4 wisdom teeth out at once in hospital, they were impacted and it was something the dentist at my local surgery referred me for because A) it was more complicated than the average extraction and B) because I'd never had any dental work done I.E fillings, injections.

  2. There could be a couple of reasons. . .firstly, it costs money and the NHS will obviously do it for free if it's considered urgent/important, secondly, you are having four teeth out! If these teeth are wisdom teeth then it is fairly normal to have them removed in hospital owing to their position in the mouth an the shape and size of the roots.

If you are a nervous patient, as i am, having a nice sleep through the whole thing will be a lot better than watching the dentist do his job!

Hope that helps, if in doubt, ask your dentist. . .x

  3. It is because yu are haing so many teeth out.

I had 3 taken out a couple of years back.

They put yu to sleep and when yu wake up, yu arent aware of any pain !

    Hope i hepled yu.

  4. Maybe there is a complication, and you need a more complicated anaestheitc than the Dentist Surgery can provide. Either that or your dentist doesn't have the relevent expertise.

Just a suggestion, hope this helps,

    J.O

  5. it could be that its because your are nervous, they might want to sedate you for it to keep you calm.

i dont believe 4 is too much my husband had a genetic disorder which meant his teeth had v.little enamal and just broke and he had one whole side of his teeth taken out at once and that was done at the dentist. and i have had 2 wisdom teeth out at the dentist which is normally a hospital issue.

it could also be something to do with the actual teeth, some teeth can be v.near or actually fused to mandible (jaw bone) which cant be removed in the dentist surgery. however if it was something serious like that then he would have said.

my guess is nerves is the reason, ive been to hospital for my mouth once and that was after a dr said i had bruised my face but it was actually an absess which they left for 10 days and swelled down my neck, trust me if you are nervous the dr place in the hospitals are no different really (so its not like you will be going into an OR)  except you will have more people around you which actually is reassuring!

    good luck.

  6. Probably because you need so many at once.  They will probably do it under a general anaesthetic! Trust me... sleeping through it is soooo much better!

  7. I'm in the same boat and I also have to have 4 teeth out. Nervous patient? Oh yeah, that's me!
