Hi,

I've had a bar in one of my nipples

just over a year now.

I never had troble with it and it healed ok,

however after a few months it just started getting itchy

and every now and again I'd hit it of the shower door

or off my bra and it made it bleed a little.

After all this time,

it's still not properly healed!

it scabs a little and ozzes too :(

what can i get to clean this?

or has anyone else had this problem?

xx

  1. piercings can be weird, ive got loads . i got both nipples done at the same time, one healed perfectly, and very quickly(in 2 months) and the other was sore for ages(6 months) so i took it out and let it heal over. then about 5 months later i got it re-pierced and it healed up in 2 months. ive had loads of other piercings and most have been fine.

maybe you could take that one out and get the other nipple pierced instead.

  2. I had mine done 10 years ago and found that a ring was better than a bar. When you are in the shower, try moving the bar around so it gets 'washed' inside as well as outside. Bathing it with salt water may help too. Otherwise, as the other person said, you may have to remove it and start again.

  3. My friend had a similar problem. She found that going to the beach helped as the sea air seemed to heal them very quickly after many months of slow improper healing.

  4. Mine also gets itchy ever so often, but it's because your nipple is an area that doesn't get much fresh air...it could help, if you slept naked or topless, so your piercing can breathe and heal quick. The bleeding occurs because you hit it off your bra or the shower door-this really irritates the wound. Keep up the aftercare and be more careful and it will probs heal in a couple of months.
