My 10 year old Rottweiler (Belle) has been eating out of my cats litter box recently, something she has never done before. I don't know why she is doing this, does anyone have some ideas?

I haven't changed her food or anything recently.

  1. Lots of dogs really seem to like cat p**p once they discover it.  It's a gross habit, but not unusual and won't hurt him (at least it hasn't hurt either of my dogs).  Scoop that box frequently or get a litter box with a cover.

  2. p**p is Nature's dog biscuit, get a cover for the litter box and it should hopefully stop.

  3. Im not sure, my dog does the same, he knows its wrong and sneaks up to it when he thinks the coast is clear and does a runner when hes caught!!!- he also snuffles round in the garden for the rabbit ones too!

    Lovely creatures

  4. change your dog food. the only reason dogs eat cat p**p is because they are lookingn for mornutrientsts that their bodyis looking for. take her to the vet so he/she canrecommendd the right dog food for her.

  5. She probably only recently descovered there were things in there she wanted to eat.  Dogs eating cat p**p is extremely common.  The only way to avoid it is to put the cat box somewhere where the dog can't reach it... chances are it's nothing to do with your dogs health or diet.  Dogs just like cat p**p!
