Why has my wireless usb belkin connection stopped working on my laptop?

Question

Well it was working fine, then suddenly my "local connection 3" (my internet) said that a "network cable was unplugged".

So i cannot connect to the internet but the belkin wireless icon in the bottom righthand corner, is still showing up blue meaning it is connected? By this i assume that the cable must be fine and i cant work out whats gone wrong. thanks.

all of them work ... sometimes. The best one most times is probably in the right hand-side of your toolbar you should see 2 icons one of them a computer monitor with like green waves on the side and the other a computer with like a antenna on top :s lol, anyway right click on the one with antenna and click on "enable windows zero configuration (wzc)" this should then find your connection!. if this doesn't work, then go to "start" - "run" - and type in "services.msc" another window should then pop-up when it does scroll down to the bottom and you'll see "windows zero configuration" click once on that and then click restart and that should work!

Try unplugging (remove the power) the belkin modem for about 30 secs then plug it back in again, then re-establish the connect to your laptop. This generally fixes 95% of problems.

I was told by and engineer once that they can get a build up of static as they are constantly switched on causing connection problems. Turning it off for 30sec or so solves this

Just a further thought, you wireless modem is password protected isn't it?

I have a belkin wireless usb and whenever it gets temperamental i restart my laptop!! try it!

right click it and click diagnose and repair

Is your laptop in a bomb shelter? Could be a signal problem..it's usually good for 50 meters or so though. Unplug it and try it again

Right click the blue computer icon and select repair it.

it happens some time when your internet connection is idle for long time. or router get diconnected with provider and it connected again it doen't reconize on the net work  .

Repiad will fix the proble.

If you using and build application to connect wifi network .

un install it.

go to the little computer icon on the toolbar at the bottum of your computer and right click it and it should say something like re-connect or something. or just click it and try to connect back to the area connection. it works for me. good luck.!
