I made a video on microsoft movies maker by getting images from google, putting them into the timeline, adding a title, some writing and some end credits and making a little animation and I did not add any narration and I didn't even try to film anything on movies maker, I just made a animation. I then uploaded on youtube and 30 minutes later, I went into my videos and it said the title of that video and at the bottom it said "failed (unable to convert file),". What should I do? Should I try uploading it again? Or if windows movie maker is not a software that you can make movies for you tube, then which software should I use? THE ANSWER THAT GIVES ME THE MOST USEFULL INFORMATION AND THE MOST INFORMATION WILL GET BEST ANSWER. Please keep the answers coming because I haven't been getting any good answers to my questions latley.

  3. First of all, have you tried re-uploading it? Or maybe uploading it from a fake account or something? I think the problem was temporary and if you could try reuploading it it might work. Anyway, you can try the following.

I do think that you have published/saved as movie file in Windows Movie Maker after making the movie. So, most probably the video must have been saved in the .wmv format. Highly unlikely that YT won't accept it, but you could try converting it to .mpg or .flv or.avi.

Whatever the format currently is, needs to be changed to one of the above or one that YT supports. You can download a free converter to do the job or just go to http://www.zamzar.com and you'll be able to convert it for free. After you download the converted version, try uploading the converted video and see if it works.

However, I am recommending this just because of that error, "failed to convert", and this might not work after all. But, you could try doing it, it might help.

    Hope your problem gets solved.

  4. This is a tricky one. A lot of times, the server is just unavailable or there is too much going on on the website. Try again in a few hours and see if it works. If not, then try using a different software to upload your movie. Opera browser works the best. Another good way to make it work is to download the latest flash player.

  5. Once you have finished making your video on wmm you then have to click save to my computer and then save it to what ever file you want. When that has been saved go onto youtube and select upload and then browse for your video (the one you just saved to your computer) and it should now upload because it has been changed to a wmv as it was an avi before and youtube will only upload wmv. I hope i helped!

  6. After you have made your movie in windows movie maker you need to "Publish" your video to your computer, basically save it to your hard drive. When you hit the "Publish" link this gives you the options of which formats you want to save the video in. You select the format then save it to your hard drive, then upload it to you tube. This is how i always do it :)

  7. After you made your movie did you go into File on Windows Movie Maker and saved it as a movie file? If not, then that's where the problem lies. If you did, then you need to get a free video converter off google.
