Everything from automobile engineering, aeronautical to weapons systems and agriculture, genetics, you name it. everything's come to a development peak only in the last 60 years. why so?

eg. we have had the wheel for centuries, yet we've only invented engines on a large scale over the last century.

  1. good q

  2. i'd say we've been gradually progressing over the centuries, but with the rise of electronics and the new inventions that followed, it seems like the world really has only come to form the last 60 years

  3. The reason is that it was only 60 years ago that Aliens first made contact with us and passed onto us their advanced knowledge, including the Microchip. Only kidding!

The main reason in my mind why everything has advanced so much and within such a short space of time was the discovery and the benefits of using a material called "Silicon", which is the heart of everything electronic including super computers which basically do all the calculations for us, so we can develop much faster.

  4. I don't know where you get this idea - there has been a continuum of development since the industrial revolution. It is true that the two wars accelerated the pace somewhat, but look at the changes from the start to the end of Victoria's reign!
