  1. What 10th planet? There are currently only 8 planets.

  2. idk, but it would be the 9th since Pluto is no longer a planet

  3. Pluto has been downgraded so we're down to 8 already.

  4. the scientific arena is still debating whether this should be classified

    as a planet.

this I think is absurd given they have demoted Pluto to a planetoid.

    (double ding dong)

  5. Given enough time, there may be 9th, 10th and more planets. When we think we've found the end of our solar system, we find more planets or "dwarf planets". Like how we thought the asteroid belt was the only major debris field until we discovered thousands upon thousands of comets orbiting our sun beyond our known solar system. There's no telling how far out it goes. For all we know, there's dozens of planets or dwarf planets orbiting our sun. After all, there are over 4 light yeras of space between us and our closest neighboring sun. That leaves plenty of space for God knows what.

  6. Because some of the moronic astronomers who have nothing better to do other than micromanage things into as many categorize as they possibly can.

  7. Because we haven't even found the ninth one yet.

  8. They are not sure whether to classify it a planet just yet.

  9. what 10th planet? i wasn't aware of any. we have 8 and some dwarf planets.

  10. Erm, it is in the solar system. Maybe the question would be better phrased: "Why don't people recognise that Quaoar or whatever it's called is part of the solar system?"

  11. Why not go closer in, than go so far far far out...?

The remains of the asteroid belt, is that of a planet known as Malona (or Phaeton) - that earlier in this solar system's history - there were 3 planets bearing life and civilisations on them.  Earth, Mars and Malona --- there was a catastrophe in which Malona was destroyed, Mars had it's atmosphere ripped off, and the Moon shifted it's orbit twice to get to it's current position around this Earth (it is not natural to us).

Earth has had highly advanced civilisations upon it in it's previous history - that world wide catacyclsms destroyed civilisations - perhaps twice in our history (Atlantis and Mu being more recent, and an older civilisation - prior to Atlantis and Mu).

I have only been researching this information for the past 5 years - and believe my time spent has been worthwhile.  I have downloaded DVDs, video clips, documentaries, audio MP3s, pdfs, etc etc on this...

  12. Too far away? :)

  13. Too far away.

  14. The definition of planet was renewed after the discovery of Eris. Now, a planet has to have its orbit and surrounding area clear of debris. Eris and Pluto haven't cleared their orbits, so they are not classed as planets. They are large enough for their gravity to pull them into a spherical shape, so they are classed as dwarf planets.

  15. There is no tenth planet. There are eight planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These are all good-sized bodies that are embedded in the plane of the solar system. Then there are dwarf planets - smaller bodies that tend to have eccentric orbits. There are four of those named so far - Ceres, which is in the asteroid belt, and three Kuiper Belt objects - Pluto, Eris, and Makemake (the newest addition to the solar system family). There's also a LOT of other KBOs that could potentially be named as dwarf planets, so keep an eye out!
