Why has the Democrat party stooped to the lowest of low with the slinging mud?

I think the fact that Obama and his wife are racist is going to ruin this country.  I haven't been keeping up with the political mudslinging, but I do know that some dirt has definately surfaced about Obama and Palin.  But Palin can't sew her daughter shut, so it's not her fault.

If America votes for Obama, our society is definately going to be shattered.

I'm a democrat, but I would NEVER vote for Obama after all of these things I've been finding out about him.  

McCain seems to be in the right place, and I think it's great that he picked a woman VP.

A very plausible explanation is that they Republicans needed a way to deal with the pregnancy issue.  Release a ridiculous rumor and let some goofball liberal rag publish it as gospel and then let them fall on their faces after it is obvious it isn't true. Then let the real story out.  Everybody is sick of the sleaze at that point and just says oh well.

I think Obama is probably not the least happy with this.  He has tried to run a clean campaign and he knows that once the mud starts flying who knows where it will land.  Bush never got near Vietnam and Kerry came got the worst of that slopfest.  Politics is strange and unpredictable.

McCain benefits either way. He was on his way to a nice orderly defeat and now he has a chaotic campaign that may well break his way.

Here is where I see the difference. The negative things that the republicans have said about Obama will actually impact us...such as, his racist views, and who he keeps company with. He hasn't said anything negative about her that didn't relate to experience and her qualifications for the job, and I'm sure if you asked Obama he would urge his supporters to avoid personal attacks (as he has said in the past).
