  1.      I'm afraid it isn't just the senior citizens, that are going to have to get use to a different, less well-financed life style.

I don't think it's the governmemt that has forgotten them, it's that this nation's debt - both nationally, the federal governments expenditures(the wars, etc., etc.), it's that of the entire consuming population.

The federal governments debt is now something like around 10 trillion dollars; and the consumer's debts - credit cards, mortgages, etc. -  is somewhere around 42 trillion.

The relative value of the dollar continues to fall; the price of oil is not likely to come down to any meaningful, financial relief level.

So that, the bottom line, is that everyone in this country - with the exception of the filthy rich - is going to have to become use to a much lower standard of living; no ifs, ands, or buts.

  2. Senior citizens had a responsibility to save for their retirement.  Taxes already provide Social Security and Medicare.  Young people today are so overtaxed because every special interest group thinks their problems are more important.
