Why has the US sold out to Israel?

After all there are only five million jews in Israel and a mere five million in the US. Jews make up barely 1.5% of the American population. So why do we worry so much about this small country that causes so much grief in the Middle East? We look the other way when they bulldoze houses in Gaza and West Bank. We snicker when Israel hides its nukes. We laugh when Israel bombs Beruit Lebanon and kills thousands of babies. Why?

Maybe because without the U.S. and Britain, Israel would get pulvorized by their Arab neighbors. This conflict dates back to the Balfour Declaration when Britain mandated Israel as sovereign and removed the Arabs from Palestine. The Arab Muslims despised the Jews and we were and are their only real protection from Jihadists and the like.

They are called very powerful pro-Israel lobbies - AIPAC in particular. It's a well known fact within political circles that no one can get elected without the blessing of AIPAC. Even Obama had to pay fealty to AIPAC. It is humiliating!

US gives Israel $6 Billion in aid every year, 2/3 military. Not included are other incentives. Country is in recession BUT US has just promised Israel an extra $30 Billion in 'unconditional aid'. Blind support for Israel puts Americas own security at risk.

A country in the other part of the world pulls the strings, & we might be pushed into another one of their c**p. Yes like Israel has a moral high ground. Not the issue in this question though.

This "small country" is continually subject for attacks and threats from its neighbors.

Israel remains civilized while withstanding suicide bombers and missile attacks aimed at civilians.

The US knows that Israel is doing the bare minimum to survive.
