  2. first check your fluid.. then check your brake pads then check the sensors  stop at a brake shop and any shop that does brakes could be a broken wire could be dirty sensor with brake dust

  3. It will mean your abs may not work, but your normal braking will be ok. Normally it will be a wheel speed sensor as they get the most c**p on them being on the wheel hub, vibration dirt water etc. a decent garage with a good code reader or scanner should be able to find out whether its a sensor or pump etc. get a 2nd opinion if they say its a pump as they aren't cheap and they might be scamming you. It is true it could be wiring also to the sensors etc but with a bit of testing with a multi meter a half decent mechanic should find the fault. cheers marc
