i admit that recently i have started doing it, because i got fed up with the nasty comments. Before, if i didn't agree with a comment, i'd just give them a thumbs down, which i will continue to do as i've realised how ridiculous it's got.

  1. BECAUSE THEIR ARE ALOT OF IGNORANT PEOPLE WITH EITHER  CLOSED MINDS OR THIS SITE ALLOWS PEOPLE  TO VENT THEIR MAD ATTITUDES ON  CONTROVERSIES. THIS IS A GOOD WEB SITE AND I EVEN GET MAD AT THEIR FRUITLESS RULES, BUT WITHOUT RULES, THIS YAHOO WEB SITE WOULD'NT BE. SO EVEN I HAVE TO BEND AND GO ALONG WITH THEIR STRANGE RULES. YET THEIR ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT REFUSE TO BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING, BECAUSE MOST LIVE AT HOME AND DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE FACTS OF REAL DISASTEROUS LIFE, SO SKEPTICISM SETS IN AND YOU GET TO READ THEIR THOUGHTS.

  2. Ask yourself because your doing exactly that. I present to every questionnaire with the best to my ability explanations about global warming in this section. Not only that, I present accurate statistics and facts.

  3. They must complain about something if it rains too much they are unhappy if it does not rain enough they complain if it snows they complain....

  4. This section is nothing but a continuous argument between those who know what they are talking about concerning the basic science of GW and those who don't. Those who do are almost invariably believers in AGW and those who don't are almost invariably deeply ignorant of the basic knowledge requuired to form an opinion about GW.

  5. because the temperature on average never changes to any significant degree (2 or 3 decimal points. give me a break!), neither side can prove anything one way or another so they just choose a side based on politics & then defend their position.

STOP GLOBAL WHINING devote your time to an actual problem with an actual possible solution.

  6. I had to back off for a few months because I was getting sucked into the maelstrom of negativity.  I used the time to research global climate change so I could come back with more information, and a gallery of Internet links that I am still trying to explore and absorb.

It's a playground, as you say, because denial is easy.  Dealing with the facts and the consequences  is hard.  The kind of hard we've really never faced before.

Try not to succumb to the dark side.  There's plenty of questions, so you can pick and choose, and leave the red hot potatoes alone.  I hardly even give a thumbs down anymore, unless they say something we've all seen 1,800 times or are passing along wildly inaccurate information.

  7. it's called debate

  8. Because corporations and scientists are making money out of it - also we get taxed more.

James Whale arguing about this the other night on The Daily Politics:

  9. honestly, people are pissed off, thats why.

  10. Because there is nothing you or I can do.  The warming is not coming from polution but from the ring of fire and other volcanic fault lines ect that are extremely active.  Our history shows this occurs before and all the money spent and politics on it are nothing more than scare tactics.

  11. Because it's a political issue.

  12. Because of the fact that scientists are making everybody scared of it.

  13. because people need a reason to b**ch

  14. lol

  15. Everyone likes a soap box to stand on.  These people just picked this one because it's hot at the moment.

  16. Sounds like your the one bitching.

  17. 1) It may affect the future of the planet and the fate of mankind

    2) It is inconvenient

    3) It is a problem of science which is not simple when you get into too much detail, you have to know a lot of physics and chemistry. Nuance is never s**y.

    4) Everyone loves a conspiracy

    5) A lot of people instinctively don't believe scientists.

    6) It has become political.

    7) It is so hard not to treat Answers as a blog sometimes. When you see a childish comment it's sooo hard to add something to your own answer to refute it.

  18. The Earth's climate is changing as it has for thousands of years and guess what....we can't control it and that really pisses people off cause people think they can control everything. The people that do realize we can't control the Earth have blamed the global warming on human neglect as a way to get our attention as to how serious these changes will be. Maybe not in our life time, but in the generations to come and it's about time we start to alter our way of life and address/plan our existence to be adaptable to the inevitable instead of trying to figure out how to profit financially and/or who's at fault because we always have to blame someone. Then there are the people who think global climate change is a figment of our imagination, that the Scientists are all retarded and the Holocaust never happened. Then there is the rest of us on that playground who just like bitching! This is a fine mess you've gotten me into....Ollie.

  19. because its all fake

  20. BECAUSE ITS ALL LIES!!! LIKE HALF THE THINGS THEY TELL YOU

  21. people dont like the truth!! muppets!!

  22. Because the more you look into it, the more you realise it's about 85% bull.

  23. Global warming is caused by us, the more we send CO2 into the atmosphere and other green house gases. Depleting our Ozone resulting in global warming. People who want to put a stop to it try to come up with all sorts of types of big ideas. Hydrogen cars, less diesel, reduce green house gases.

Other people don't care because it may not effect them in their lifetime. But it happen with major society today, debates about that it is inevitable, or should we try and fight the constant growth of green house gases into our atmosphere.

No-one's happy about it, but it's what should be done about it, that everyone argues about.

  24. Because all the people in that section are amazingly cool and clearly have interesting lives!
