Why has the media renamed Osama bin Laden to Usama bin Laden.?

I know you can spell it either way, but it was always Osama until recently.

I swear that since the very day of 9/11 the media and everyone else has refereed to Osama bin Laden, but now that we have 'Obama', they have began to call him Usama.

Personally I think it is funny when people like Chris Matthews slip up and call Obama Osama.

Because you will need for the Republicans to "Use"ama Bin Laden to stir up the Chickens Little's in America to vote for them like they have for the last few years.

Political Names due have impact on elections unfortunately.  OBAMA OSAMA is a problem.

What media are you referring to? Newspapers? Newsmagazines? Tv news? TV newsmagazines? Radio?

I haven't seen that anywhere. But if it did happen, it would be a sign that they are trying to help Obama's image.

have u ever read the book 1984. they (big brother) change things so often in the media, and people blindly believe it even if just last week they were at war with one country, and now are being told they are at war with another. hmm..its just like that. the media, the government know american people are stupid and will believe anything and just take it at face value and not question anything. well, all of us who are at least educated.

According to the Wikipedia entry, there is no accepted standard translation from Arabic and the FBI and the CIA use "Usama."  This usage is not of recent origin.
