Question:

Why has the quality of questions asked on Yahoo!Answers gone down so much?

I just logged on and figured I'd read a few questions, reflect on the matters, and give a few intelligent answers. I read all the questions in the list and clicked many of them to review the details. The questions were such stupid things to ask. Has the quality of questions asked on Yahoo!Answers gone down or is it just that the minds of many Americans have regressed or lost direction?

  1. I think a lot of younger people have begun to use it, honestly. About 60% of the questions are "Do you think he likes me?", "Am I pretty?". That sort of thing. Even when you do ask a question you get them answering too lol. Get used to it, I suppose! :P

  2. Too many idiots and little kids that just want to talk about the Jonas brothers and Miley Cyrus. It's annoying, I know.

  3. You know, it's interesting that you say that. I just started using this a few days ago and I find some of the questions really stupid. I don't even understand what some people are talking about. Some people can't even put a regular legible sentence together.

I speak French fluently and I went on to the French Yahoo Answers and it's amazing how intelligent and relevant the questions are compared to the American one.

Well...let's just hope that some of us can keep it somewhat relevant.

  4. It could be that Yahoo!Answers added more categories, because some of the "silly questions" asked actually fit that category. But I am with you, I am boggled at some of the questions asked. I just think a larger demographic of people are using Yahoo!Answers. Also, there could be some that abuse the feature, just to see what answers a certain question might garner.

  5. Because mommy and daddy left the computer on.  So, we are stuck with the little ones in the baby pool.

  6. The real surprise here is that the quality of the questions has been this pathetic for a long time.  I know since I've been well into Level 7 on a previous account, and on to Level 3 on another.  The surprise you might find is that your wisdom and maturity has increased, not necessarily as a product of your involvement on YAnswers, but, simply as a part of life, and your opinion or assessment of these questions has, very appropriately I might add, dropped astronomically.  Keep up the good work!!  God Bless you.
