Why has the scroller on my dell laptop stopped working?

to the left of the little touchpad there is a touch bar that is supposed to scroll down the screen when you move your finger along it. now it has stopped working. why?

Updating the touchpad drivers would resolve this issue. You can download them from www.support.dell.com under the driver and downloads section
