Fuel protests are being planned as I write.  The same group, lead by the same leaders, who protested about fuel prices during the Blairite Government of Misery and Death, are about to hit the Motorways yet one more time in protest at ever increasing fuel prices.

The argument is dead simple.  The UK.gov extract about 85% of the price of the fuel at the pumps by way of tax and duty.  They could reduce this by say 10%.  This would help everyone, from the hauliers companies to the motorist.

The UK.gov refuse to listen to reason, so the strike by owner drivers of heavy goods vehicles is planned for sometime soon - before Spring I think.  They've got to wait until after Christmas.  We're not talking about a bunch of goon minded Commie inspired Union low-life - we're talking of the Backbone of the English - the Yeomen Artisans of England, small land owners, small property owners and the owners of small transport companies with usually one lorry or maybe two lorries/trucks.

Joining force with the English Artisans, will be their loyal allies, the Welsh.  The main difference being that the Welsh will probably make it seem a bit more exciting.  A mad Celtic crawl all the way along the M4 into London and stop, etc.

Fuel prices in comparison to wages are exactly 50% less than they were in 1945, if you think this is rubbish just do your homework, and at this time of austerity we had otherthings to worry about

Protest what? that more dinosaurs didn't die so we would have fuel for a longer period of time? The fuel reserves are running out and raising the prices is the only way to slowly encourage people to use other sources of energy.

there actually has, the goverment discurages the media from circulating it tho, i being a young poor student have been concidering buying a horse to ride to school because car payment with insurance and gas is much more money then im taking in.

People had already accepted that increase in fuel prices is justified and it is the reason why there are no more protests.

Protests do very little if nothing at all.  All that protesting during the Vietnam war and it did nothing except get some kids killed.

because the protest would be a non starter(excuse the pun) the biggest cost of fuel I am told is  the tax levied by the government, one suggestion posted here writes it is so we can use alternative fuel,, <please advise what fuel? do you indicate>  commercial travellers would be delighted to use this, if they could.both petrol and diesel are  prohibitive prices now.

If it was the fuel itself we were paying for then I'd willingly pay more but the Tax is the killer! At least 85% is tax n other 'duty' but I suppose with so many giving up the smokes they have to get all the lost revenue back somehow!

i just hope my Hubby has a job in the New Year! He's a coach driver and there's no way with the fuel increases it won't affect his firm!

If there is a protest organised I'll be right there with them!
