Why has there been such a demise in American amateur boxing?

I can remember that with their wonderful tradition of Golden Gloves boxing they dominated the Olympics for years.

It's much more entertaining to watch all-out bear knuckle fighting than two guys getting so tired that they just hug eachother for half the fight.

Because most young athletes who want to do something "physical" go into Mixed Martial Arts, Pro Wrestling or Shoot Fighting(real pro wrestling).
