Why hasn’t anybody developed a protein substitute?

  1. Protein substitute? Do you get out to vegetarian places often? Are you vegetarian? Have you heard of seitan? Tempeh? Google this! These products are amazing when prepared the right way.

  2. Because proteins are significantly more complex than fats.  The have a primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structure.  The tertiary and quaternary structures involve protein folding, which is carried out by specific enzymes.  It's not just something you can do in a lab.  

  3. A protein substitute?  Why would that be needed?  Protein is not a bad thing like saturated fats.  Why would anyone need to substitute beans, nuts, grains and almost any other food?  

  4. sorry i dont realy get what you are asking, but if you want to know how to get more proien:

    veggie meat, brocoli, wheat bread, and a lot of other veggies, grains, and fruits have protien.

  5. what are you a vegetarian and want a substitute for meat protein??
