Why hasn't Greenland ever hosted the Olympics?

Even though it is self-governing, Greenland is actually a territory of Denmark and therefore cannot submit its own independent bid to host the Olympic Games.  That said, if you are referring to the Summer Olympics, Greenland is probably not the best place for the majority of the games to take place.

Greenland is not an independent nation nor does it have a National Olympic Committee. Those are the two basic requirements to host a Games.

I have never heard of and International developed city in Greenland.

Especially for the SUMMER olympics.
