It doesn't seem very ethical to the octopus

  1. The octopus is already dead.  It's like purchasing a fish from the grocery store, and you throw it onto the ice, that's not bad.  Obviously, if you bought a dog and threw it onto the ice then that's pretty evil because it's still alive.  Don't worry, the octopus is dead.

  2. They're not alive.  A couple restaurants and markets here in the Detroit area sell them as a delicacy.

Besides, it's tradition around here.  Yes, mean, old, nasty, gross Detroit has TRADITIONS!!!!

    Let's go Red Wings!!!!!

  3. So what they kill the octopus then throw it out on the ice pick it back up to do what with most likely throw away.  that is so cruel so what you kill an animal to throw it away...i mean it they were gonna eat it (highly doubt) go ahead but they dont. >:o

  4. Because fans get it from a seafood market and it's probably dead?

PETA's reached a new ridiculous if they make a fuss over an already dead creature that's sold as food. I do believe there's nothing they can do about that. Besides, it's not like they're an endangered species.

  5. Because it's dead...

I thought PETA meant, People Eating Tasty Animals? Guess I was wrong.

  6. Because they dont want to get on hockey fans bad sides.

  7. Lets go....you seem more worried about a squid then the Wings themselves......boy will you be heart broken if you get beat by a dead squid

  8. This country is really full of a bunch *******. Stop bitching about it, it's a tradition and it will never go away, so live with it.

  9. they shouldnt have stopped it its like a tradition now it has been going on since 1952 and now they stop it WEIRD......

  10. Because PETA is an absolute joke.

Did you know the head (former??) of PETA uses beef insulin?

  11. Those PETA-philes are a misguided and hypocritical bunch. Maybe they should be thrown onto the ice. Has anyone heard their policy regarding euthanasia of perfectly good adoptable pets that aren't adopted?
