both of those aren't renewable, eliminating those should be a good thing everyone wants. why don't we find another mean of transportation?

  1. kinda difficult to make

  2. because while mass transit is best we all prefer to be alone

its called a wagon it doesnt need oil cause there is no engine

  3. Because we don't have the technology yet.  It's great that you're thinking of these ideas, but unless you become an engineer and make it happen, then they'll just stay ideas.  Magnets would be extremely expensive to install along every car and roadways.  And since we rely on friction for propulsion, we would have to come up with a new method for that, too.

Electromagnets consume massive amounts of electricity, and aren't yet practical for transportation.

You're not the only one to think about this, the idea has been around for decades.  It has been universally accepted as not practical.

Edit- I'm sorry, but it just doesn't "work on paper".  Run some actual numbers on how much energy it takes to make a magnet, or run an electromagnet.  And you can't place wind turbines on the car, they will only slow it down.

  4. We need tyres because they can grip the road in a wide range of conditions. A hover vehicle would be a complete waste of energy just keeping it floating. The infrastructure for electromagnet vehicles for everyone would cost a huge amount and require constant maintenance, not to mention it wouldn't solve pollution becuase we get electricity from burning coal, and as demand for electricity would be higher, more coal gets burned. We need oil in a vehicle because there are moving parts. The moving parts need to be lubricated to increase efficiency and lifetime of the parts.

  5. Using magnetism along with reverse magnetism sound like a great idea for propulsion.

the problem with it is the cost factor of installing millions of miles of roads with magnets.

  6. Hover vehicles are not easily controlled.  Moving engine parts need to be lubricated and there are synthetic oils.  Remember, it took hundreds of years to go from the horse and buggy to the automobile.  Someday your idea will come true, but not in the near future.
