I'm pretty irregular at times, but i've been sexually active but using protection. This month when i was active acouple days later i started feeling like my period was going to come on, but it never did. That was on aug 9. I have taken a preg test and it came out negative, but im still experiences the cramps and tenderness. could i be pregnant or is my period delaying.

  1. Go to the doctor, to find out what's going on. Sometimes, if you are stressed you may skip, but it is best ton contact a physician.

  2. Your period is delaying

  3. You say yourself that you are irregular, and that you used protection.  There is no cause to think you are pregnant.  At any rate, be aware, it takes six weeks from conception for the body to build up enough of the correct hormone to be measurable by a home pregnancy kit.  So, I would wait six weeks from the last time you had intercourse and test again, if nothing else it will put your mind at ease.  If your cycle continues to be irregular, you may want to discuss birth control pills, they not only prevent pregnancy, they also serve to regulate your cycle.
