If more and more people are getting Earth Wise, such as cutting back electric by switching out bulbs that uses less electrity, why is the rate going up insted of down? Why is it to live a Earth Wise cost the people more money then it to save us and the world. Solar panels $20.00 - $60.00 per cell, automobiles that uses other resources then gas $60,000.00 - $100,000.00

  1. All the enviromentalists stopped new power plant construction so there is a fixed supply and increasing demand.

  2. how many kilowatts less did u use this yr over last year? do you know where electric power comes from...coal [which because of environmentalists cost more..nuclear because of opposition and safety problems cost more,,,copper wire prices are up...people save a few whats here an there but,,,big TVs..computers,many battery chargers,,24 hour a day yard lites.

  3. <<Why hasn't the electric rate drop?>>

ummm, look at your monthly electric bill.

how much less are you using?

do you live in a vacuum?

how much has the price of oil gone down this year?

there's a good chance that's where you electricity comes from.

as for all the other things, it requires oil and energy to make them as well.

  4. Not everything environmentally friendly will cost less; as a matter of fact, most "green updates" will cost more.

The electricity rate isn't going down because, for one thing, the global human population is expanding at an alarming rate. Moreover, unlike you have stated, not everybody is becoming "Earth Wise". Just because you are helping the environment doesn't mean everyone around you will automatically follow.

  5. The population has grown at about 3-5% per year.  Each person would have to use 3-5% less to consume less energy as a whole.  You actually consume the most energy in the products you buy.

Your second question answers itself, it earthwise was cheaper we would do it already.
