First it was just one eye, for over a week now and today my other eye started twitching too. It's getting really bad and I can't go to the doctor because I don't have health insurance. What can cause this? It gets worse when I drink coffee.

  1. Stress most likely. Caffeine will only make this worse, i learned to stay away from caffeine, get proper sleep and try to remain stress free. I twitch alot less when i don't have stimulants or am not irratible.

  2. My eyes twitch when I read too much...like when I am studying for exams or doing accounting work. Focussing your eyes too much on one thing can cause the twitching.

Research eye twitching on google. They have links to good sites to help you out. I know because I was wondering the same thing.

Also I found that if you nap and make sure that you get lots of water and just destress the twitching will stop.

  3. it's most likely from stress. try doing some eye exercises or just relaxing a bit more

  4. Sounds Like STRESS!! But, read and answer. Do you have any or shakiness, especially in the hands?  You can hold them out in front of you straight and watch them. And or, have you noticed your eyes getting a little bulgy?  I ask this because I have hyperthyroidism and I often get itchy twitchy eyes, with eye bulging and shakiness which are the classic symptoms. Hyperthyroidism is the more uncommon thyroid disease. This makes your heart palpultate like a flutter, and mood swings.  If you are under alot of stress you may want to relax a little. Drinking coffee will make this worse. Relaxation can help your symptoms alot and if this is thyroid disease, you have to find calmness because stress just makes it alot worse.  Get checked as soon as you can if you get like symptoms as I mentioned above. Plus, do some family history, thyroid disease likes to skip a generation.

  5. NERVES!!!

    NERVES!!

    NERVES!

And STRESS - The more coffee you drink, on top of what else is going on in your life, the worse it will get!

Try limiting your coffee intake.  A cup in the morning...  maybe another later in the afternoon or evening!  That means ONE cup - NOT the 'bottomless cup'...

Also try some STRESS management... I've sent you some thoughts, but won't put them on here!

    Good Luck!
