If everyone would in the states don't you think they would lower the price?

I mean all the trucks that runs on diesel that delivers food and stuff to stores are paying 5 bucks a gallon, when they can't afford to pay gas anymore than don't you think they will lower it or how school buses runs on diesel also??

Thoughts people.....

  1. I believe congress is working on passing a bill to sue OPEC for cheaper gas prices hopefully it passes. The whole reason why its up so dang much is cause these people are not producing any oil so by supply and demand prices skyrocket.

    Lets hope for the best!

  2. I don't know, something will have to happen soon because there is no end in sight! Thanks for bringing this up... If someone can come up with something I'm there!

  3. Many people do complain but they complain to the wrong people. Why do people complain to the gas attendant as if (s)he) were responsible for the high price of gas?

  4. I think we go on strike and not consume!

  5. Go ahead and protest. It will not do any good.

  6. I think we should all write sob-story letters to the princes of the UAE telling them why they should lower their prices...

    maybe that'd work! Lol!

  7. Protesting gas prices, doesn't do a bit of good.

  8. I think that ALL the cost of transportation will be passed along to us in higher prices.  Groceries, meter readers...etc.

  9. It takes too much gas to get there.

  10. we have to con cress and they wont do nothing

  11. I am not sure if people have tried this or not.  I think the way the government is looking at things is that people really aren't slowing down on their driving.  People are still taking vacations and buying less fuel efficient vehicles.  People are not really finding ways of saving on gas.  So it seems like we are actually doing the opposite of protesting.  We just keep consuming.  I think about it a little more as far as driving places.  I try to not have to back track and I try to run several errands at once such as stopping at the store on the way home instead of driving back to the store.  Things like that.  I mean I kind of cringe when I fill up or when my husband brings home his gas receipts but honestly we are still driving.  We try to save a little here and there though.  If enough people would quit consuming then I am sure they would lower the price.  High gas rates will reflect on us a lot with the price of groceries, utilities, postage and shipping, etc will continue to rise.  I really think they will lower it soon.  $3.00 per gallon doesn't sound so bad now!!!

http://www.yahoo.com/s/888780  here is something that was located in the yahoo news about truck drivers protesting in London over gas prices.  Thought of this question when I saw it posted.

  12. I would love to be a part of that.  I think there have been many complaints but no actions taken torward this growing problem.  As Americans we do not stand together against the government enough.  In Europe they are constantly rallying and protesting the government and they get many things resolved this way.  In America, we are scared of our government and a vast majority of us think that the government is always right and is always looking out for the people.  Government control is increasing and it needs to be leveled out to where it is a government for the people again..........not against the people, especially laws and police control.  As for gas prices, I think they will continue to rise before they level out and we will never see reasonable gas prices again.  It doesn't matter who is in office.

  13. You obviously have no idea how economics works. Do you think they just make up a price out of thin air? The gas companies have to buy the gas that they sell you. There isn't much oil left for people to take out of the earth, so this has increased demand. As demand goes up, so does price. Protesting won't do anything. If everyone goes out and protests that diamonds should be free do you really think that companies will start just giving away diamonds? Of course not.

Stop driving if you don't like paying so much for gas.

  14. I think it's a lose-lose situation for us all because we can't protest.  I don't know about you, but where I live I need my car and can't not get gas.  I reluctantly shell out about $55 every five days because I have to go to work to help pay for gas, the mortgage, food... etc.

It would be wonderful if there were a successful way to protest the ridiculous prices, but in the long run would they even listen?
