It is really socioeconomics.

Theology is a scant part of the whole, but thanks for your opinion.

Socioeconomics or socio-economics is the study of the relationship between economic activity and social life. The field is often considered multidisciplinary, using theories and methods from sociology, economics, history, psychology, and many others. It has emerged as a separate field of study in the late twentieth century.

  1. This is probably more a theology question than a Social Science one.  But here goes:

    1. Isreal, being the chosen people of God have incured jealousy and bitterness throughout their history.  They have been enslaved, hunted and denigraded.  Jealous people do hateful things.

"For you are [Ex 19:6; Deut 14:2, 21; Ps 50:5; Jer 2:3] a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be [Ex 19:5; Deut 4:20; 14:2; 26:18; Ps 135:4; Titus 2:14; 1 Pet 2:9] a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

    2. Historically - Disobedience to God's will leads the nation to encur the consequences of disobedience.

    2 Kings 17:20 (Whole Chapter)

The LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and [2 Kin 15:29] gave them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them out of His sight.

    1 Samuel 13:14 (Whole Chapter)

"But [1 Sam 15:28] now your kingdom shall not endure [Acts 7:46; 13:22] The LORD has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."

    3. They killed the Lamb of God that was prophesied about for so lonog.  Of course, that, too was in prophesy - he will be denied by his own people

"Did you never read in the Scriptures,' [Ps 118:22; Acts 4:11; Rom 9:33; 1 Pet 2:7] THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED,THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone;THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD,AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES'?

    John 5:39 (Whole Chapter)

    [ Witness of the Scripture ] " [Or (a command) Search the Scriptures!] [John 7:52; Rom 2:17-ff] You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is [Luke 24:25, 27; Acts 13:27] these that testify about Me;

Again a theology discussion - not Sociology, but thanks for making me crack open the Bible.

  2. I have often wandered the same thing, along with, why don't they integrate within the country in which they live. There are Jewish Americans, Jewish Russians, Ethiopian Jews, on and on for about every country in the world. They purposely set themselves apart while positioning themselves  in areas of influence within each country. Bankers, lawyers, media owners, politicians, professors, etc.

I am in no way jealous as mentioned above, just curious. Some of the information I find is really creepy. I was especially concerned with the holocaust. It seems the Germans had trouble with  the German-Jews taking over their economy to the point that they pretty much owned the country. (I first heard about this from my brother, a big war and history buff.- Then I saw a documentary on History channel that said the same thing) The Germans wanted rid of them but other countries wouldn't take them.

Anyways, it was a bad situation.

I put a few of the sites that I have read and I'm still researching. I see a lot of good and at the same time, a lot of not so good.  It's hard to imagine a people wandering the planet for 3000 years with a plan.  Is it good or bad?

Just found this site, I was looking for info on the "Lavon affair".

It's quite long and very disturbing:

    Here's a shorter version:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavon_Affai...

The overall idea was to keep  another nations fighting force in the region to help protect Israel. (has a familiar ring)

  3. pain = strength or weakness. its a test. Almost all of Jesus's deciples were killed for there belife in him

  4. Jealousy.  The Israelites descended from Abraham,  a man of great faith in God.  God found favor with Abraham and made a covenant (promise) to bless Abraham and his descendents.  In doing so, the other nations became resentful and jealous of them.
