Question:

Why haven't I received my stimulus check yet?

My wife and I filed a joint return. We used TurboTax, but we had to pay in this year, so we mailed all the information along with a check to the IRS (and did so on April 14). Last two digits of her SS (which was the first one listed on our return) were between 10 and 18 -- according to the IRS schedule, it says the check should have been mailed on May 23. But so far, nothing.

Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

  1. You've read the schedule information wrong; go back and re-read it.  The schedule ONLY applies if you filed early enough for your tax return to be PROCESSED by April 15th.  A mailed return takes 4 to 6 weeks to process so since you mailed it on April 14th, your return could not possibly have been processed by April 15th.

The schedule doesn't say when your rebate will be processed, only that it will be processed "later" than the published schedule.  Presumably that would be after the first round wraps up in early July, so you should not expect your rebate until AFTER the 4th of July weekend at the earliest.

  2. Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than (and received a few days after):

    00 through 09 - May 16

    10 through 18 - May 23

    19 through 25 - May 30

    26 through 38 - June 6

    39 through 51 - June 13

    52 through 63 - June 20

    64 through 75 - June 27

    76 through 87 - July 4

    88 through 99 - July 11

I take it you are referring to the paper checks as the direct deposits have been issued already. = )

  3. As others have noted, the schedule applies to returns processed by April 15. However, checks are mailed weekly as returns are processed. For example, if your tax return is processed this week the stimulus payment should be mailed about a week later. If the last two digits indicated a future mailing date, then it would follow the schedule.

  4. Since you mailed it on 4/14, there's no way your return was processed by 4/15 which is required to be in this first cycle of payments (read the first line on the schedule at http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180... - they probably didn't even GET it until after that date.  So you  likely won't get your check until after the first round of payments finishes in July.

  5. Since your return was not processed by April 15th you are not being considered in this first round of rebate checks.  The IRS has not been clear when you will receive your check but they have hinted that they will start two weeks after the last of the scheduled (July 11th) checks are mailed.  Don't look for yours before mid August.  If it comes before you will be happy.

  6. It depends on your social number....starting from 0 to 9 in the beggining. sucks if you are 7 or above but it's coming!!

  7. You will get the rebate check when you get it.  Never count on money that is not in your account.  Be patient.

  8. Manual checks will be issued to you. It will come in July

  9. Yes..I am in the same boat as you...mailed it in and they cashed the check...but still no information of when it is coming
