Why haven't I seen many pokemon in pokemon emerald?

Question

Ok so I've been playing pokemon emerald for a long time now and the game is beat not "master'd" as in all pokemon cayght I'm far from that. I've seen 160 and caught 60(I'm not into completing the dex's but I want to start. How come I haven't seen a lot?? I mean I have 50 hours on the game and only sen 1/3 of the pokemon how do I find them? And the trainers in the BF have pokes from older versions how do I complete my poke dex and see more pokemon?

u're probably not gonna like my answer but if i were u i would trade from other games like ruby or anything else. i also have the game as well.

Maybe a lot of the pokemon can't be seen in that version, and you'd need to trade friends or such to get them. Some pokemon are also unavailable unless you attend a certain event, or have a certain item. I'm not sure if that version of the game has day/night/morning, but if it does that could also be a reason. Certain pokemon appear at certain times.

I'm not sure. but i was watching the old episodes on cartoon network. it took me back to when i used to love that show. i had to stop watching it though. 1: times were changing and 2: they were adding way too many Pokemon. and i couldn't keep up.

keep searching in the grass and don't ride a bike that will "scare" the rare pokemon away basically and make them jump to another town or whatever.. just keep walking in grassy areas and battle ALL trainers..It takes time a lot..Also the Regies (sp?) are in caves (if I remember) look for them and just keep looking for the rare pokemon..
