Why haven't we seen any major news about Osama bin Laden lately ?

When we first started the War in Afghanistan we heard updates almost every day about being on his trail or "close" to capturing him. Isn't he the most wanted person in the world ? Should there be more effort to find him ?

  1. The unprecedented co-operation between world countries has cut off the head of AQ forcing them to work as a multitude of independent cells without central direction.  In addition, as long as Pakistan is helping the world fight terrorism, we will not force the issue with them to turn him over or allow a surgical strike.

  2. There is no effort to find him.

Bush whipped his family out of the US while all other air traffic was grounded remember.

ObL is the son of one of the Saudi elite which, in partnership, owns the GOP and Bush especially.  The Afghans offered to hand ObL over to Bush on production of the evidence of 9/11 involvement which GWB claimed to have.  To avoid this GWB invaded but soon ObL was trapped in the Afghan-p**i mountains and capture was imminent.  GWB needed a distraction and that other US construct, Saddam, was convenient so troops were diverted away from Osama.

We still haven't seen that evidence which is probably as genuine as most of GWB's truths.

  3. I'd suggest there's a huge effort going on behind the scenes to get Bin Laden before the president leaves office. The Bush administration is probably worried about its legacy, and the capture of Bin Laden and his prosecution for 9/11 would, in their eyes, vindicate their "War on Terror" and (albeit illogically, if not desperately) their decision to invade Iraq. I think if Bin Laden "survives" the Bush era, that will be seen as a victory for Al Qaeda.

  4. His purpose to the American people is over, no one asks or is concerned about him any more so they don't have to make up stories about him. Or help him debut a new music video.

  5. Quite simply the Bush Administration decided to use the search for bin Laden as an excuse for the illegal and immoral "war" in Iraq. This has drained America's military resources to the point where the search for terrorists pretty much stopped and now the Taliban is once again managing to gradually take Afghanistan away from the new government.

There was no money to be made for Bush and Cheney's rich friends by finding bin Laden. So they stopped looking a long time ago.

  6. He's dead! The reward for him is something like 50 million dollars! Do you really think that one of his cronies wouldn't have snitched him off yet, no matter how loyal?  even terreriosts are greedy and you can by a bunch of perfect virgins for that much money!!

  7. I guess we follow different news coverage.

Mind you, so many are on trial at the Hague for war crimes at present that I would have to describe any of those as being possibly the most unwanted people, if convicted.
