  1. The Cardinals are hoping Wainwright and Carpenter will be back by early August.  It may be too late then.  The new GM doesn't want to trade prospects for a chance to win this year.  He is afraid the prospects will turn out to be real good players later.  I disagree with him.  The Cardinals have played much better than anyone excpected.  Now that they have a chance they need to add a left hander in the bullpen.  But they got rid of Walt Jocketty.  He would have made a trade by now to get the team some help.

  2. I expect a ton of deals before the deadline to go down. I think all of the GMs have been testing the water to see if they can get some desperate contenders to give up some great prospects. I really expect the mariners to trade bedard and ichiro..they need to rebuild badly. The Rockies appear to be willing to hold on to holliday...maybe they are trying to put together a long term package to keep him?

  3. Razz is correct.  I read an article that some teams like the Pirates are asking a lot for players such as Nady and Bay.

  4. As far as pitching goes, the asking price is way too high for the mediocre pitchers that are being offered.  Brian Fuentes is one of the biggest names being thrown around right now, and the Rockies are trying to get a teams 2 best prospects for a reliever that will become a free agent at the end of the season.

  5. Cause it takes two teams to make a trade! The sells maybe asking for too much in terms of a prospect or prospects.

  6. i ask myself that yesterday at work and i have no idea
