Why hide your relationship status?

Question

I'm wondering why so many of my friends on Facebook hide their relationship status so soon after they get in a relationship?

Personally I'd be proud that I found someone to spend my time with.I'd be shouting form the hilltop so why hide it from people?

One minute they are in a relationship with "....." the next there's nothing.

Well, I'm one of those people who never showed my relationship status. I just don't show it because I'm single and for me it means that I'm looking for a relationship or something. So I tend to hind it.

As for the people who hide them, maybe they are only hiding them from you, they only show them to close friends.

I don't know exactly, that's just my opinion.

maybe they split up? when i stopped dating someone not long ago, i took my relationship status off also because i didn't want people asking questions yet.

Yea, I've noticed that too. Maybe they're not really happy in their relationship and want to appear to other people that they're single in hopes that someone may make a move on them. I don't know. I'm happy to show my relationship status! :)
