  1. Your question is a little bit confusing.

  2. I think bcoz  yahoo friend is not getting full information about How u r formating and what problems u r getting at the time of Reformat

  3. If you format your hard drive you WILL lose all files on it

Why do you need to reformat disk contact me for more help

  4. Jan C gave you a good answer IMHO.

It really is not difficult. Just remember to make a backup copy of every file you want to keep (your documents, pictures etc.) on a CD or DVD. Make sure you can actually READ from those before performing a format.

If you need further advice - just ask!

    Please remember about 3 things:

    1) You cannot give too much information.

    2) You can add more information to your question.

    3) Remember to select the best option (if there is one, that is).

    > "all the files cannot be deleted by formatting" - Yes, they can :) If you are talking about physically removing data so that it cannot be read by any means (any = over $100000 in costs) then you are right. The only method there is to physically burn the HDD.

  5. Probably because you don't provide enough information about how you try to format the disc and what goes wrong when you do that.

It's hard to say without knowing the details you provided previously.

  6. Because you're doing it wrong. You cant format the C drive thru windows if thats what you're trying to do. You use the OS CD or a boot disk. Read this:
