Why image attachmets of messages are not being saved?

I am sending image attachments with my messages. These images are in GIF and JPEG format. But they are not being stored. Why?

yahoo never has stored attachments, that's what the file and photo section is for. if the group setting of no attachments, I believe it strips them out.

Yahoo once stored all types of attachments. But later on, due to the lack of space, they stopped saving them. This gave them the opportunity to offer more space for the groups' other activities such as files / photos etc.
