Why in Mexico do some cars have dollar signs painted on their back window? (atleast in Cancun)?

When I went to Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula (I think that's what it's called) some cars would have a money/dollar sign painted or marked with a felt on the back window. I saw this on all types of cars. And it was on like every 10th car i saw. There has to be a reason? Can anybody answer this, I'm just wondering out of curiosity.

Because these cars are for sale, I guess it's

easy they put a dollar sign and a phone number you call and negotiate.

it's not just Cancun, I've seen it all over Mexico.  It's the standard shorthand for "FOR SALE." It's sometimes written out but not often: "SE VENDE."

It simply means they are for sale.

It means the car is for sale. And, it is not dollar sign, it is "money" sign; the sign $ also means peso. We write US$ to say "american dollar" or $m.n. to say "Moneda Nacional (peso mexicano)".
