If Ministers rob in millions in a country they hide themselves or they are covered by the police force to protect the ministers reputation. What about when a poor man try to rob £10 to buy some food for himself or children. He's put in prison for 1-3 nights or even ask to pay a fine even though he does not have any money, so he would have to rob again to pay the fine. Do you think that is fair?

  1. Read some Charles Dickens.  The 19th century seemed to have extremes of wealth and it wasn't pretty!

I'm not a socialist but some of their ideas are more Christ-like than I had realised.

  2. The distribution system is not honest. The government is supposed to make sure the weakest and the poorest will get their share. But all holding power are busy either in saving their post or corruption to collect money for their future generations.

PS- It's a question which keeps bothering me. So I have given a star!

  3. What a great question.

No it is not fair. In Jewish law, it was not against the law to take food if you needed it, it was not stealing. Especially for travelers. The farmers had to leave the plants unharvested by the roads so travelers could take what they needed.

When society becomes all me me me , it becomes selfish and unfair especially when the government is corrupt.

  4. that is life

  5. Ok, first off...I'd bet the Minister who "rob in millions" didn't necessarily physically ROB the people...the people actually gave them the money and they misused the funds --- not ethical,l but not the same as a man who actually STEALS directly.

Get two of the same situation before you ask which is fair and which isn't.

  6. It's a simple and logical result of the continuation of a socioeconomic system which exploits the masses for the benefit of the few at the top. (Thumps Das Kapital on desk)

But seriously, most societies have done this to a greater or lesser degree. Sadly, most societies have excelled at this to their own injury and oftentimes demise.

  7. because it's not the game is how you play the game....

that poor man instead of robbing could have asked for the money first or the food...and as for the rich more richer and the poor more poorer i think it is perceptional, richer people have an equal spending level depending their social and economical status, the same applies to the poor

"If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are." ~Zen proverb~

  8. This is an age-long question. As long as you have greed, you will have your corrupt ministers, if they have a sincere heart, they will establish a community concern for all people to better represent and serve them. One minister cannot get to know all the people he serves under.

The poor man has other avenues, he can go to the local church and ask for help. That is what was done before before government decided it will take over all social concerns. He can also go to the community for help. That is one reason communities/neigbors exist.

Try this question if you havent already in the society& cultures section.

  9. Of course it's unfair.

The rich can pay to have things done by feeding those who have the greed to become rich themselves, including taking advantage of the poor and destitute.  It's the lack of feeling, conscience and ignorance that causes this.  Education and politics also play a bit role.

  10. NO

  11. It goes to attitude. If the people have bad attitude they will remain poor.

  12. Greed.  In America the same thing is happening. Our CEO's

make in the Billions of dollars, while raising minimum wage is always a fight. Illegal alians, are ignored when they break into

the country, because the rich are made richer by their cheap labor. There is nothing you can do about it.  But you can change the way YOU see life. Think of it as a game that they will not win.

Do not rob to buy for yourself and your children. Outsmart them.

There are other ways. Remember that whenever you do and have to pay the fine they win again. So they are counting on you not to want to provide for your family enough to go around

THER way. You can do it. Good LucK

  13. This is very true, and similar occurs in most, perhaps all countries.  Life isn't fair, generally.

But this is Science and Mathematics.  You may be better posing this question in Economics, or Philosophy, depending on the type of answer you seek.

    .

  14. Im not sure what your getting at by comparing ministers with poor people, however, I will take the christian stand on this one.

Theft is a violation of the 10 commandments. Jesus said that belief in him and honoring the old laws (10 commandments) is the contingency for getting into heaven.

In the eyes of God both the minister who robs and the poor man who robs will end up in the eternal flames of h**l.

Look at the book of Job. This man was tortured, his family killed, his home burned, had blisters and sores and dies starving in the gutter. All the time he kept his faith in God, and his mind on his eternal salvation, not his immediate satisfaction. If for one moment he gave into the devil, the torture would have stopped and he would have lived the rest of his life fine, and when he died he would end up in h**l.

  15. Why, yes, I can explain.

Poverty and want are man's natural conditions.  We actually must do something to rise from those conditions.  It is not encumbent upon anyone to do those things except for themselves.

Is it fair.  Of course it is.  Robbery is not okay - at it is never the only option.

  16. Capitalism at its finest.

  17. I don't know why you didn't ask this in Economics. You'd surely get more answers there. In a free society,if you study and work hard. You're chances of success are pretty good.In my opinion that's what a free Government should offer.Opportunity and a fair shot at a good life. You have to make your own way.

  18. Its the way of the world and the only way to change it is to put a government in that are more generious towards the poor. Just remember that there will always be the rich and poor divide and it doesn't seem right but it is how the world works.

  19. Life isn't fair.
