  1. It's a "tease." TV and radio have used it in various forms for years. They figure you'll put up with one more commercial if you know that song is coming up. It's targeted mainly to younger females who fall in love with - and make hits of- the songs.

    -a guy named duh

  2. simply bcuz...............................

    their dumb *****.....

  3. they do it before they go to a commercial so if you like the song you won't change the station.

  4. Ugh, I hate that c**p. Edge 103.9 does that all the time.

"White Stripes. Blue Orchid. *song preview starts* You can hear it on The Edge...right now."

    *cue song*

    -.-

  5. They try to put it as sound effects...being dramatic ya know, fashion of the day.

  6. they had a stroke

    needed a reminder

  7. Our station does that... primarily with the newest songs. A lot of people get turned off when they hear "New music" coming up. this way, they get a little taste. Some listeners don't know a song just from the title, so this helps them to recognize it if they have ever heard just a little of the song. When it comes to psychology within listening audiences, this is actually a good thing.
