Why in western society, call, the "Middle East." In Asian, they call "West Asia?"

  1. Correction, they are in Southwest Asia.  Technically speaking, Middle Eastern countries (except Egypt which is in Northern Africa) are part of Asia and it is located on the southwestern part of Asia. The reason behind for the westerners to label them as "Middle East" is because if you take a look at the world map, the Southwest Asian countries lies on the borderline between east & west. That is why they call Middle (on borderline) + East (Asia) = Middle East


  2. Because from where we are looking,  it is (Roughly) in the Middle. But from where they are in Asia, it is to the west of them.Hence to them  it is West Asia,
