India is behind in football not because of cricket but because of bad governance. Politics has creeped in seeds of Indian Football.Talented players are being booted out due to lots of corruption in their board.India was not always bad. they were one of Asia's top teams in late 50's but these above factors were responsible for downfall of Football.

we all just love cricket, from the humble chaiwallas, rickshawwallas,panwallas to the popular people like preity zinta, shahrukh, mallya.......

the guy is right ...no infrastructure. Cricket has nothing to do with it. Like we have richest board BCCI , we dont hav any body governing football. There is a huge football talent among 100 crores, especially in southern & eastern india.

Goverment is so corrupt that they don pay attention to the national game hockey , so u cant expect it for football either. Moreover the temperature is above 35 in many areas , it really squeezes the players. It will still take many years for some professionalism in sports in India.
