  1. India is moving towards ethanol and other fuels which burn cleaner than gasoline.   It's a slow process because the oil companies are scared and doing everything they can to stop it.

    Ethanol burns cleanly and does not contribute to global warming or green house gases, unlike gasoline.  In addition, it is being made via "green" means.  Ethanol plants have begun using wind energy to generate the electricity for their plants as well as burning of cow manure of all things to generate the electricity.  Wind and ethanol go hand in hand because most of the corn is grown in the midwest where it is very windy anyways.

    They are now making ethanol cleanly and fossil-fuel free from electricity generated by wind turbines in the midwest. Here are the links:

    Cars running on ethanol, which is distilled from agricultural crops and biomass are governed by the same laws of physics as those using petrol in that both fuels emit CO2 as a consequence of combustion, however the crucial difference is that burning ethanol recycles CO2 because it has already been removed from the atmosphere by photosynthesis during the natural growth of agricultural crops, such as corn plants. A corn plant removes CO2 from the atmosphere and uses it to grow and produce cornstarch. The plant is harvested and the cornstarch is fermented into ethanol. The ethanol is burned and the cycle repeats. NO NEW NET CARBON is added to the atmosphere when you use ethanol, unlike gasoline which spews tons of carbon into the atmosphere which has been trapped beneath the earth's surface for millions of years in the form of crude oil.  You can burn all the ethanol you want and you are not contributing one iota to global warming.  You are simply recycling carbon.  And creating demand for ethanol by using it in your car stimulates farmers to plant more corn to meet the demand.  More corn means more CO2 is removed from the atmosphere because corn, like all plants, takes in CO2 and gives off oxygen via photosynthesis.  So not only are you not adding any new carbon to the air when you use ethanol, you are stimulating the planting of more corn plants which naturally fight global warming via photosynthesis.

    And so far as of today, I am still able to both eat corn and burn it in my car. Imagine that! I've yet to see a person starve from using it.  I never realized humans were limited to eating corn only!!!  I even had carrots and salmon the other day!

  2. Because they are all riding bikes or walking every where?

  3. because Indians think                   y should we let others do it

                                                                       or

                                                           let it be nothing happens

  4. because thy aren't as dumb as the rest of the world.

    they realize you get worse gas mileage with ethanol. that means you have to use MORE to go the same distance.

    which means you pollute more.

    biofuels still hurts the environment and starve people.

    maybe this will change in the future.

    CURRENT production of bio-fuels is really hurting more than helping.

  5. Actually India uses more diesel then petrol but they are using ethanol as additive to petrol. India is already moving to bio-diesel too.

    The political parties and business people dont have much brains but now they see the potential so next few years will see more hybrids and biofuels in India.
