  1. Preethi,

I understand your frustration but the problem with the fact that the second most populous country in the world is extremely challenged in the Olympics is because it's so difficult to address higher priority commitments, like feeding its people.

You're correct, if India had the same infrastructure and economy as China then you'd most likely see similar results.

How many of the 1 Billion people in India's population have the ability to train?

India needs to strengthen its economy before it's going to be more successful in their Olympic priorities.

I believe their economy will strengthen somewhat, with all of the outsourcing that is happening in the USA to India, and you'll see more athletes come from India in the future. I also believe you'll see them become more successful at winning medals (especially if they could persuade the IOC to instate games such as cricket and Jai Lai as olympic sports.)

    Hope this helps.

    Enjoy!

  2. I think it is because the majority of Indian population is vegetarian. It is harder to train physically competent athletes for sport without feeding them meat.

Notice that in the ancient India, warriors did eat meat to keep themselves strong. So they know the relation between physical strength and meat-eating. But their culture just doesn't like it.

  3. Some countries care more about the Olympics than others. Clearly, competing in the Olympics is not a main focus of India. Interest needs to be built in the country. And they need to develop Olympic caliber training programs. There is no reason India can not do better at the games if they choose to.

  4. Yes, India is the second largest country in the world in population behind China. That's really pathetic that a nation with that many people couldn't find good athletes for the Olympics.

  5. Obviously India Is Not That Much Advanced They Do not Prefer Olympics
