Why is 18 such a useless number in the province of Ontario?

18 makes you an adult. You can vote, get a credit card, buy lottery tickets/ p**n, buy R-rated movies without any hassle, etc

Best of all, you are only one year away from being 19 and being able to drink.

At 18, the only thing you can't do is drink.  Waahhh.. be grateful you don't live in the US.

18 is an adult,and the only thing you can not do is drink.You can vote in the next election.You can sign a contact or lease and  get a loan or a credit card.If you commit a crime you are no longer protected by the young offenders act and will be charged as an adult because you are one.If you are in school you can sign a your own permission slip since you no longer have a legal guardian you are responsible for you.
