Why is'nt the government dealing with violent and imorality?

Sure violence is everywhere but why is it promoted this new game GTA IV its encouraging murder and gang violence it should be dealt with. another thing global warming is killing millions yet the government wouldnt stop big car manufactorer from building big engine like BMW with big v12 engine that could polute the whole area.. why why and why

Why are you relying on the government to take over everything?  Do you want your every move dictated?

Those of us who don't want our children exposed to video game violence, should not buy the game.  We should monitor what our children are doing on the computer and watching on the TV.  That's not a government responsibility.  That's a responsibility that we accepted when we decided to have a child.  We need better education for those who are about to be parents.  It's a long, hard road and not every one is equipped to take that journey.

As far as building big cars that pollute...don't buy them.

We have to be accountable.  We cannot depend on someone else to take care of us.  Voice your concerns in the proper places.  Get off your...chair...and do something about these problems.  No violence, please.

when I was a young boy,if I watched a cowboy film or a space film, I would probable go out and play at being a cowboy or spaceman, very limited violence was shown and I had a set of parents to guide me, as you grow up and then get older, most of us get whats called common sense and knowing the difference between right and wrong,

today's kids are a different breed altogether they are brought up on violence bad manners and the single parent culture,

we need a very strong set of proper British laws, and a party even stronger to enforce them, more chance of hitting the moon with a snowball,

Onto Voilence, Its a video game, and its been rated 18 + , meaning its only suitable for people above the "childish" age. Surely an 18 year old wouldnt commit murder... Would they?

The answer is very simple... First it is NOT the role of government to interfere in LEGAL business practices... especially just because some people don't like what they do. And once they start doing that, where will they draw the line?

Violence is not everywhere, I have gone for many years with no violence in my life at all and I can't be the only one.

With reference to GTA IV do you honestly think that the millions of people who play it then go out and commit murder and run people over? Because I'm pretty sure that despite having played it lots my boyfriend is not going to turn into a gangster. I find it deeply patronising when the government bans games and films because they assume I don't have enough intelligence to tell the difference between reality and make believe. Where would it stop? Noone would be allowed to eat a burger in a film incase I am influenced and become obese.

There is no actual evidence that humans have caused global warming and that it isn't just a natural fluctuation like all the ones that have happened in the past and it definitely hasn't killed millions of people yet even if it is.

You really should think about these things rather than just being brainwashed.

The government's responsibility only goes so far.  If someone is going to be stupid or do stupid things, it is not the government's fault for not telling the not to.  Video games do not encourage violenece.  they simulate it.  Nobody is being forced to purchase a V-12 engine automoblie or an SUV.  People have some choices and cannot put the blame for bad choices on the government.

with the environment issue, i say its the governments hunger for tax-monies otherwise they would have banned all theses super gas guzzlers by now.

Touching on immorality, if the governemnt wants to play the daddy in the family, then it needs to look for experience responsible and intelligent people in their right mind,without a grudge towards their families, because all these people who make decisions for the government on family welfare haven`t got a clue or still may be giving the advice with a sub-conscious retaliation to an experience they might have had  in their own families.If you keep eliniaeting fathers from their responsibilities then thats what you get, youths with no strong values.

I say that law is soft on voilent people - no wonder British prisons are termed cushy hostels.People go to jail for life and they are released just couple of years - i don`t understand the sentence in this country when someone is sentenced to life imprisonment
