Why is 4/20 national weed day????

A lot of people smoke weed at 4:20 PM/AM during the day. There is several myths on what happened and why it caught on. April 20th is also 4/20 so a lot of people make a big deal about it.

It's actually international. EVERYONE celebrates in Canada. At least in BC.

Because the number 420 is a code word used to represent marijuana.  If someone is okay with smoking weed then they

It was a code used by a group of teenagers in the 70's for when they would smoke up. I guess it just caught on.

It's because many police forces change shifts at 4:00, they start every shift with a staff meeting, therefore 4:20 is a very safe time to make a drug buy bacause there are very few police on the street at that time

So there ya go, someones parents out there invented the term 4/20.

And remember this:

There are NOT 420 chemicals in Weed. It's about 315, the num. goes up or down depending on what you're smoking.

4/20 is NOT police code or Maryjane.

And that whole **** about Holland and 4/20 over there being "tea time" for smokers isn't true either.
