i do think that afl has gone a bit soft these days, but watch this. this is what the afl was like, u tell me if its soft. the game as a whole has changed and its becomming faster with alot more skill, something that the nrl will never reach. i would also like to see a crowd of over 25,000 rock up to an nrl game, for some reason i doubt very much thats gonna happen.

The game is so soft due to the type of player being attracted to the game.

It is just about run by females now days. They are into everything & making a mess of whatever they get involved in. Mothers are telling little Johnny to play Australian Rules football because it is the game with the least amount of body contact. Most teams are dominated by teenagers. It has become so soft kids are playing the game at senior level.

It is a game of skill with no predictable plays anything can happen in any one second which makes it the number one spectator game in the world and as such the players have to be up to whatever is requred at that split second and do it very well ~~

Afl is a supreme athletes game 2 be a meat head like rugby players takes no skill at all just hours in the gym which anyone can do it is a game of fitness and ball skill alot like soccer rugby players cant even kick 35 meters AFL may be a bit softer compared 2 Rugby but the Skill and athleticism out ways the negatives

And I've also played both at reasonable (not great) levels.  Rugby League is a much safer, easier to understand and softer game. A league player will generally come off the field sorer (usually around the buttocks and testicles) than an Aussie Rules player, but when injuries happen in Aussie Rules they are usually far worse because you have two players who actually can run and jump, running and jumping into one another at top speed rather than falling over each other at a standstill.

League is after all a game developed around the concept of one man shoving two men's heads up three men's butts.  The a**s is a large part of league - you see that in old Balmain videos.
