Why is Al Gore using the tragedy in Myanmar to advance his agenda and fill his pocketbook?

Using tragedy to advance an agenda has been a strategy for many global warming activists, and it was just a matter of time before someone found a way to tie the recent Myanmar cyclone to global warming.

Former Vice President Al Gore in an interview on NPR’s May 6 “Fresh Air” broadcast did just that. He was interviewed by “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross about the release of his book, “The Assault on Reason,” in paperback.

“And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated,” Gore said. “And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.”

it is not to advance ones position it is to help warn the people of the danger

the TV new this evening in Mexico also said the storm in Myanmar with 23 .000 dead was a result of Global Warming

And they have nothing to do with Al Gore.

here are a few more

recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests,this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people,died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

in the last 300 years half of the planets forests have gone

and in the last 50 years

half of our wet lands ,rain forests and ice fields .and 3000 species of animals .

He said "might be associated with global warming" so you have no valid point. He was being perfectly reasonable because with global warming it is predicted that these things will increase. Gore was making no claim that this specific event was due *just* to global warming, and he said so with the word "might".

Then again, you already know this. You just hate Al Gore and need something to go on about.

Cyclones have been around LONG BEFORE so called global warming.  If Gore bothered to open a history book before his mouth he wouldn't look like such an idiot.  

this cyclone is more likely due to Winter cooling in the Southern hemisphere, than to so called 'global warming'. Excess cooling, as typified by this last winter and late onset of spring, exaggerates the temperature gradient across the Southern temerate zone Northward to the tropics, and everybody knows the power of extreme temperature gradients.

Al Gore may be right or he may be wrong. it's up to YOU to believe him or not. we can act now or act never. either way, the results are going to pop up in history books that our children and grand children will be reading. i guess they'll know who was right and who was wrong.

Gore is just the latest in a long line of snake-oil salesman.  The sad thing is how many young people there are that actually believe his propaganda and never take the time to do any serious research.

He thought it might be nice if he could reduce the likelihood of you needing to scrounge for food and participate in riots, as people have done in several countries in recent weeks (Haiti, Egypt, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Somalia), 12 years ahead of the timeframe forecasted in the Pentagon scenario drawn up in 2004.

He didn't blame the cyclone on global warming, he said it is an example of "consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming".

Opportunist.   He looks for every possible angle to promote his agenda.  

The sad truth is that many people buy into this stuff.  The earth is getting warmer and this bad thing happened.  They don't understand the difference between co-incidence, correlation and causation.  Just because two things happen in the same time frame does not mean that one is caused by the other.  

Many people now fail to do any critical thinking of their own, preferring to be spoonfed by someone else.
