Question:

Why is America so ignorant ?

Speaking as an American, it kills to see my fellow Americans not care about what happening with our government. Now i love the new gadgets and playing football also, but im educated enough so research and learn about our sick and twisted government. The government intimidates the media, and tells them what to broadcast, and they distract us with these idol things, instead of showing important worldly issues. Most people i know, know nothing about v-chips, and human tracking devices except the ones that are heavy into politics. And that will be a global economic crisis, and if we ever get into that situation, George Bush has the power to call State of Emergency. There are so many things i can go on about, but what is your opinion on this?

  1. Because America's education system is completely controlled by the government. Whenever the government set s the curriculum for the schools, people believe they are "educated."

The media is more free in American than just about any other place on the planet, though this will be lost if Obama gets in and passes their "fairness" doctrine when the government will determine what must be talked about in the media.

  2. We are not ignorant, we know ALL we think we need to know.

Our Political leaders want our trust and our votes and want to reassure us that everything is, or will be, A-OK and not to worry our little minds about anything. Just leave everything up to them. What's wrong with that!

You want to deal with problems? Here is one:

Why should we believe oil companies will sell new oil from offshore leases  cheaper than they do now, if they do not, or cannot, sell the oil from old offshore leases any cheaper than OPEC dictates?

You answer that and tell me how I should vote, OK?

  3. They are just naive, the administration however are Fake and Jewish ~clever and armed to the teeth and control the media too.

  4. I want to hug you! It is so correct. I blame American media. They show the rest of the world as maniacs in their news, tv shows and movies. They only show the negative sides of other countries, good sides of the States.

Education system sucks (they teach almost nothing about the world).

As a non-American, it's really sad for me to see people live in a such beautiful country as the USA and still don't use their oppurtunities and sources for education. Oh yeah, and noone thinks these days.

EDIT: 'Emma' always gives answers in a very "polite" way.

  5. If you're so educated, why can't you write correctly?

  6. Not all Americans are; many sheeple are waking up to the wrong-doings of the establishment. Keep in mind all the elements working against them. The poor education/propaganda system, the mainstream media, sodium fluoride in the water, and so on...

  7. I think you are a conspiracy theorist.  This is a great country with enough checks and balances that it really won't matter who is the next President.  It's important to do your homework and vote for the candidate that closely follows your own beliefs.

  8. Umm what point are you trying to make?

  9. My Opinion is -- you're nuts.

  10. i don't think it ignorant.right now there are pressing domestic issues.foreclosures are up,employment is down. people are afraid, and clinging to their party line.

  11. I think you are paranoid and your claim of being " educated" is a sham.

  12. Uninformed generalities such as yours scare me.  Your spelling, grammar and sentence construction makes me wonder about your intelligence.  Who is calling whom "ignorant"?

  13. My opinion is that most of what have written is not only poorly structured but bordering on paranoia..

  14. Thank you for the topic !   I,too, have been wondering the same thing. Are we lost or brainwashed while we go about our daily affairs. Isn't it very obvious by now that we've been 'hoodwinked' by this administration ?   The statistics show clearly that we've been lied to and have lost many of our young people to the lies and greed of a few.

I'm wondering why an all out effort to impeach these murderers hasn't taken place. Now,I know I can have Nothing to do with either party and am now an Independent. We should All be ashamed of ourselves for sittin back and allowing this to happen.  We Must unite or else !

Human tracking devices are just another means of ruining our freedom as we Knew it. Notice I said Knew it !  The rich get richer and the greedy get greedier.  Little do they know !  What happened to the slogan that beat the j**s in WW2 ?  "In God we trust" !

  15. This American is not ignorant and knows why the media has idol like shows, it is far cheaper for a network to pay expenses of a bunch of a bunch of unknowns with a big prize at the end and use a minimal crew for getting it on the air, than it is to pay a cast, at least two separate taping units, clear locations, and hire writers to do a regular tv program.

Its not the governments fault, just corporate greed at work.

  16. Bring on the Brave New World,Mr Orwell.

  17. I don't think we citizens are ignorant.  But I do think we need to be:

    more aware of our government

know more about our history, to not make the same mistakes

    more knowledgeable about our world

more active in our local government.

I don't think we have the right to complain if we ourselves aren't  working to improve our great country.

  18. Maybe its you.

  19. Well,I guess most of  your answerers  proved your point of ignorant.

Yes our government is sick and twisted, but it always has been. Its just now their New World Order is becoming closer to reality. The concept is to bring the world under submission to one supreme government, enforce one controlled common religion and one worldwide economic system. (The EU has already instituted this with the 'Euro' currency.) In reality, it is a move toward a socialistic, controlled, and godless world.  The elite will have all of the power and the rest of us will be peasants.

  20. I agree. There are lot of people now adays that can't even name all 50 states let alone their capitols... most can't even tell you the three branches of government, let alone google it... They don't pay attention to their history and government classes and then wonder why our society is so messed up...

People don't even realize the what their onstar can really do for them or to them.... do people realize that onstar has the power to (un)lock your car and choose what speed you drive? all in the name of theft deterrents?

There are so many things that the government can use to control us in a sense... and people either don't want to know or they just don't care... so they block it out and let themselves be turned into little sheeple.. That is why there are more people that vote in American Idol than any government election.

  21. I believe you are a bit on the paranoid side. We do have all this technology, but not a government that can force any of it upon us. And Bush may have the power, but with that power there also must be a reason. Our Military will never allow any President to just decide to take over the government without reason.

  22. I might agree with your sentiments - but you haven't put your point across very well.

But please tell me what your concern about V-Chips is - because I've never really viewed them with suspicion as I understood they are controlled by the householder/parent.

  23. Most people don't care because they have not been educated, in my opinion.

Also, Americans tend to be very "America-centered," I guess you could say. We are isolated on our own little turf here in the middle of the Atlantic & Pacific oceans. So many people never travel beyond their own state borders, let alone to another country, so they never see the world from a different perspective, never see how normal it is for other people to live differently.

Many Americans believe what they have been taught growing up, and don't take the time to stop and think for themselves that maybe the things that have been taught could be wrong (gasp!).

I am an American as well and I agree with you. It is so sad that many Americans don't care, or don't want to see what is going on. To the first person who responded... no, it is not just this person!! I know many, many educated Americans who believe the same thing.

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." -Jimi Hendrix

  24. I think you're overly paranoid.  The v-chip is a method for parents to control objectionable material watched by their kids on TV, not a device to track people.

  25. Americans are ignorant and I don't think it has much to do with our news sources. There is so much information in today's world; there is no excuse for an American to ignore what is going on.

I don't blame the government. We elected them.

No offense, but you are paranoid. Please don't buy into an anti-Bush conspiracy. There are superior reasons to dislike this administration than fears of global monitoring. If that's the case you should probably take a look at China where such intervention is a REALITY.

Not sure if you are educated, but the v-chip is a device found in most modern televisions that allow owners to censor shows by rating, thus limiting content to children. As for human tracking devices such as a GPS, very few people use them and always by consent.

  26. My opinion is this - America is a country, not a sentient being, so it cannot be ignorant.

Some Americans are indeed ignorant, but so are some people in any country on the planet.

As to the media and the government - I see it a bit differently.  The media hates the government (except the liberals in the government of course), and the government hates the media.  The media manipulates the public, but that is only because the public is willing to be manipulated.

And as for the idol stuff - well, sensationalism sells, and if that is what makes money, that is what the media will put forth.  That nauseates me, but it is the case.

As for keeping a focus on real, relevant issues... each individual is responsible for the media they consume.  If you want to know the truth, research it, don't be a passive lemming who just believes what you are told.  Be active... be proactive!  Do your own research.  Try to avoid bias and use a variety of sources and the truth will come to you.

And if the government is sick and twisted, we have no one to blame but ourselves.  We put them in office.   Find a better candidate, campaign for them and VOTE.  That is how to take control.  DO something - don't just sit there and rant.

  27. I am not ignorant.

  28. I believe our government is working.  After 911 our people established the unity that it took to help us pull ourselves out of this disaster.  Now, the war still needs our communal resolution to complete successfully.  I believe Americans are well aware of our government actions, and ultimately support our Independence.

As far as all your other wild allegations of conspiracy.  Those are vote getter for the weak minded...mostly Democrats unfortunately.  Dems are the ultimate VICTIMS!

  29. My opinion is that you are ignorant and rather confused.

There is no evidence that the government intimidates the media and tells them what to broadcast. The United States is not Russia or China. However, there is overwhelming evidence that capitalism and market competition are responsible for what the media broadcasts. Media companies prosper due to advertising revenue. Therefore, they will broadcast whatever it takes to bring in a large target audience for their advertisers. Very simple concept, it's part of free market economics 101.

All the information about any and all subjects are now available via the Internet. However, it is human nature to only educate one's self about things that will help support a level of self sustenance that one is willing to settle for. In other words, most people only learn about what they have to in order to make a decent living. They could give a sh*t about v-chips, human tracking, global economics, etc.

  30. Where as I agree that the collective IQ of the general public is in the toilet. I disagree with your conspiracy theory.

You are the one trying to keep us away from the real problem, Obama

Having said that, I am nearly 70 years old, well educated, and scared of

nothing in this world or the next, but that man, Obama, scares the living

h**l out of me. He will get us all killed.

  31. America is not ignorant.

    You seem to be however.

Your education, as an American, did not seem to include proper English.

I seriously doubt that you are an American.
