Why is America the only country that shows the medal table ?

with the country with the most medals first and not with the most golds first .

Is it just so it looks like they are beating China

they're just trying to make themselves look better, and thier only ahead by a couple of medals,  China will dominate

Whenever I see a medal table, I always see the country with the gold medals first - China. Maybe you're just watching the wrong stuff.

Its because most people want to see who has the most golds and then silvers and then bronzes

And its probably not because it looks like China are wining, but to make America look like it is closer than it is to China

I think that is done for the American ego.  It is not the joy of playing and competing, the medal count is what is most important.  We think we are not a success unless we win medals.

in australia they show the major medal winners so it doesnt matter whether u have more golds than silver its the overall total

The official Olympic page has China in number one position on the medals table, as they have won many more gold medals than the states, or any other participating country for that matter...

how do you know america is the only one that shows a medal table? do you live in every country and have you watched every international broadcast?

furthermore we show the medal count during the winter olympics and we suck in the winter olympics

Because they don't like losing. Incidentally, this is the first time the US have counted this way.

Apparently the US would rather have 100 bronzes than 99 golds.

Not sure where you are looking, but the table I am looking at has China ahead - and I am in the US. I assume that you are not in the US - so how can you say that what you are seeing is correct or how America sees it?  I don't care how many medals we win, and as someone said - we always show up and participate, even when we know we are likely going to lose (Winter games). We show how many medals we win then too.

Is this yet more sour grapes/tired US bashing? Can we just enjoy the games without this phony anti-whatever dramas? Do you feel better now?

we're beating china in medal count not gold medal count we have 22 gold 24 silver and 26 bronze and china has 39 gold 14 silver and 14 bronze and congrats to china for having more golds then US and congrats to US for having more overall medals tada happy now?
